Joining Prince Hall Masonry
Becoming a Prince Hall Mason means you’ll be joining about 300,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Liberia. Membership is open to people from all backgrounds and the organization’s aim is to empower members to be the best they can be – it’s about building character, supporting members as individuals, and helping them make a positive contribution to society.

We have 71 Lodges in Illinois, with any man over the age of 18 welcome to join, irrespective of their race or religion. Students can also join one of the youth organizations. Membership requirements are:
- Be a man 18 years of age or older
- Be a citizen of Illinois
- Believe in a Supreme Being regardless of religion
- Believe in the immortality of the soul
- Possess a desire to help others through community service and universal benevolence
